A long term inside IR35 opportunity exists for Senior EC&I Engineers with experience in the delivery of EC&I design and engineering for area systems.

 

Duties include - 

  • To support CE&I Lead Engineer for Area 400 in the delivery of the instrument engineering design and the standardisation of designs across the Grout Plant.
  • To produce Instrument engineering deliverables across all areas of the Grout Plant, including vendor liaison, as well as checking the work of others
  • All deliverables are to align with the projects ‘Fit for Purpose’ design philosophy and the IC’s expectations.
  • To work with the Area 400 engineering team to coordinate the release of Instrument deliverables and technical specifications to the Procurement, Construction and Commissioning teams. This is to include the following tasks, including any future updates:

  • Specification and selection of field instrumentation in the process industry and for powder handling.

  • Design for installation of field instruments, including, but not limited to process connection, electrical connection, pneumatic connection, positioning of instruments for optimum measurement.
  • Instrumentation documentation e.g. Electrical Hook Ups, Process Hook Ups, JB Schedules, Installation details, interrogation of P&ID, etc.
  • Checking and or review of deliverables produced by in house designers and supply chain.
  • Specification using instrument data sheets
  • Support the Construction and Commissioning teams with response to technical queries and fault observations.

 

Requirements for this post include - 

  • Degree qualified or equivalent underpinning knowledge and understanding
  • 5 years experience working within a highly regulated industry
  • Awareness of current standards, regulations, legislation and technical developments
  • Ability to provide technical input and produce technical deliveries
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software.

  • Familiar with software used by the C, E & I discipline including AMTECH and the AVEVA Electrical and Instrumentation packages is desirable.

  • Previous nuclear experience is preferred
  • Ability to obtain BPSS is essential
