Carmichael are recruiting for an Electrically biased Project Manager. You will join a tier one contractor to work on a large-scale nuclear project.
Prior exposure to Nuclear sector projects, and heavy electrical works (HV, Substations etc.) is essential.
This position is be fully site based.
Duties will include -
- Overall responsibility for the successful completion of the section or works/overall project and to lead by example, managing the day to day delivery of construction projects
- Draw up and monitor short term programmes
- Maintain accurate progress records
- Deliver regular Toolbox Talks and positively engage the team
- Awareness of budget, cost control and cost recovery, ensuring that expenditure is in line with the contract budget and that resources are utilised efficiently
- Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved
- Produce and regularly review the project programme to ensure completion on time under the supervision of a Project Manager
- Lead weekly team meetings to review performance on site
Requirements for this position -
- Prior experience in the Nuclear Sector
- Experienced in heavy electrical works (i.e. HV, Substations)
- Must have worked on highly regulated projects (£50m+)
- Engineering qualification (Degree qualified)
- Chartered Engineer or another professional membership is beneficial
- Must have a strong personality in order to deal with stakeholders
