CarmichaelUK have been engaged on a four year framework to provide technical engineering resources for a range of engineering contracts within Hampshire and surrounding areas. These roles vary in scope – from civil engineering design, transport and development planning, through to construction and commercial management, highway asset management, drainage and flood water management.

 

We are looking for a candidate who can carry out work within the following areas:

  • Specify, design, procure, install and commission intelligent transport systems to required timescales and budgets.
  • Agree solutions with stakeholders that meet engineering and environmental considerations.
  • Manage internal and external consultants, as well as project staff to ensure programme targets are achieved.
  • Direct the work of contractors and assign tasks to project staff to ensure that intelligent transport systems are implemented, operated and maintained effectively and to budget.
  • Determine, implement and monitor ongoing maintenance programmes for operational intelligent transport systems to ensure optimum performance.
  • Influence traveller behaviour and resolve issues associated with the implementation of traffic and travel information systems.
  • Provide information to help plan and monitor annual expenditure, issue orders and authorise payment of invoices

 

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • RQF Level 4-6 in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Ability to use LINSIG version 3 and TRANSYT 12 or later software.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD, KeySignals and AutoTrack software.
  • Experience with MOVA design and SCOOT UTC design.
  • Experience of commissioning traffic signals and signalised crossings.
  • Experience of Junctions 9 software.
  • Ability to prepare and write feasibility reports.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid working (mixture of working at home and in the office), with frequent visits to live sites.
  • Working outside of normal working hours
  • Significant requirement for lone working on live highway and construction sites
  • Communicating with stakeholders in a challenging environment
  • Ability to fulfil the travel requirements of the role
