A great opportunity exists, inside IR35, for Senior Engineers with extensive highways experience to work for a tier one contractor on a highways project.
You will control a section of the works, according to a specific discipline. As well as managing a team of Site Engineers within same discipline.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Carry out complex setting out
- Provision of ‘primary’ setting out control and recognizes the optimum location for installation
- Coaches junior engineers in the use of setting out techniques
- Produces Method Statements and Risk Assessments and undertakes periodic reviews
- Prepares and raises Temporary Works Briefs, following up to ensure timely implementation
- Produces Activity Control Plans / Inspection and Test Plans and obtains approval
- Ensures that Site Engineers complete the required quality check sheets on a timely basis for the works
- Identifies, raises and actions Non Conformance Reports. Tracks close-out of NCRs within section.
- Identifies and raises Technical Queries (RFIs) with possible solutions. Tracks closeout of RFIs within section
- Monitors as-built programme and reports reasons for difference
- Liaises with subcontractors to ensure works undertaken in line with weekly programme
Requirements for this position
- Extensive highways engineering experience, preferably for a tier one contractor
- Experience managing a section of works on a highways project
- Civil Engineering qualification or equivalent would be beneficial
- Safety Critical Medical
- AutoCAD
- First Aid
