Section Engineer – Rail (PTS & Earthworks)

About the Role
We are recruiting for a skilled Section Engineer to support a major rail framework in Kent, with a focus on earthworks and general civils. This is a hands-on site-based role requiring strong technical expertise and a valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver earthworks packages including embankment stabilisation, drainage, and ground remediation.
- Supervise site activities and ensure compliance with Network Rail standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, site teams, and project managers to ensure timely delivery.
- Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation.
- Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld across all works.
- Support setting out, surveying, and technical problem-solving on site.
Requirements
- Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Valid PTS certification and experience working in a live rail environment.
- Proven track record in earthworks and civils within rail infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and procedures.
- Excellent communication and site coordination skills.
- CSCS card and relevant site qualifications.
