Position: Senior Estimator

Job Summary: The Senior Estimator is a seasoned professional responsible for assessing the costs associated with construction, engineering, or other projects. They analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to produce accurate and detailed cost estimates. Their expertise in cost analysis, industry trends, and project management helps organizations make informed financial decisions and ensures the successful execution of projects within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Assessment:

    • Review project plans, specifications, and any available documentation to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.
    • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate cost estimation.
  2. Cost Estimation:

    • Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related expenses.
    • Utilize industry-specific software and tools to prepare accurate take-offs and cost breakdowns.
    • Consider factors such as inflation, market conditions, and regulatory requirements when calculating costs.
  3. Bid Preparation:

    • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and submission deadlines.
    • Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to review bid strategies and pricing.
  4. Cost Analysis:

    • Analyze historical project data and industry benchmarks to improve the accuracy of estimates.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options to optimize project budgets.
  5. Vendor and Subcontractor Relations:

    • Source and negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and maintain positive working relationships.
    • Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals for inclusion in overall project estimates.
  6. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project documentation.
    • Provide detailed cost reports and analysis to project stakeholders, management, and clients.
  7. Risk Assessment:

    • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project costs and timelines.
    • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and provide recommendations to project teams.
  8. Continual Learning:

    • Stay updated on industry trends, cost trends, and advancements in estimation tools and techniques.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.


  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Estimator, with a strong track record of successful project estimations.
  • Proficiency in estimation software, such as Procore, Sage Estimating, or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction industry regulations and standards.
