A long-term opportunity exists for a Senior Estimator experienced in the estimating of rail projects to form part of a dynamic collaborative team on an alliance or JV. You will be expected to utilise your skills gained as you progressed from a Site Engineer or from a project Quantity Surveyor to a proficient Estimator who engages with suppliers and the delivery professionals in order to build a comprehensive and accurate estimate for submission.
Duties will include the following -
- Calculate and prepare cost estimates that provide a least cost, optimal value solution using first principles.
- Prepare GRIP estimates
- Prepare funding submissions
- Evaluate and approve 3rd party/supplier estimates
- Engage with suppliers, sub-contractors and 3rd party suppliers to obtain the best financial solution
- Work collaboratively as a team when engaging with industry professionals to obtain information and solutions
Requirements for this opportunity include -
- A Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering qualification
- proficient is the use of first principles to estimate.
- Proven estimating experience for bids
- A self-starter confident in seeking information and solutions
- An understanding of methods and typical production rates / outputs
- Exposure to large complex civil engineering rail projects for the likes of Network Rail
- Proficient in CANDY(CCS) advantageous
- Capable of meeting deadlines in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
