Senior Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer
We are currently looking for a Senior Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer to join a leading Civil Engineering and Construction Company in the UK. The Senior Instrumentation and Control Engineer will be responsible for designing of energy transition projects for internal and external clients throughout the whole design cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and Managing Scopes of Works provided at Tender stage and developing cost resource estimates, execution plans and project programmes.
- Production of Instrumentation design drawings; including block cable diagrams, loop drawings, layouts, hook ups and general arrangement drawings
- Delivering C&I design deliverables at differing engineering stages including: Feasibility, FEED, detailed design, construction support and advice.
- Undertaking site visits and investigations
- Managing the successful delivery of all Formal Process Safety Assessments, including, but not limited to: DSEAR, HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, SIL Determination and Verification and functional Safety Assessments.
- Representing the Team (Gas, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture), when necessary, at internal and external meetings.
Who we are looking for:
- Degree qualified in Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation or Control Engineering
- Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Engineering and Technology, the Institute of Measurement and Control (or similar) or working towards chartership.
- Experience in Oil & Gas sector and familiarisation with the IGEM Suite of standards for Gas Pipeline and Installations and metering as well as other National and International Compressor Station and Pipeline codes.
- Experience of interfacing with Clients such as National Gas Transmission and Cadent and knowledge of their Electrical and Instrumentation Specifications and Standards including the G/17 and G/35 design assurance process
- Good technical report writing skills suitable for submission to stakeholders.
- Feasibility, conceptual and detailed design experience associated with the development of all aspects of Natural Gas Compressor Stations, Above Ground Installations and Pipelines.
