Carmichael UK are recruiting for a Senior Maintenance Co-ordinator on behalf of a Tier 1 Contractor

Salary: Up to £35,000


The Senior Maintenance Coordinator role encompasses a variety of key processes and tasks, to ensure the fleet and its drivers are kept on the road and are compliant to legislation, quality standards and business needs. The role includes but is not limited to a number of below tasks.


Specific Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Negotiate the value of maintenance works and authorise costs and works either by phone or 1-link
  • Check vehicle history and claim items under warranty
  • Refuse unwarranted work and discuss with the end user where required
  • Contact manufactures with ongoing vehicle issues.
  • Assist/organise break down recoveries.
  • Report on vehicle maintenance costs and downtime.
  • Monitor vehicles for replacement near end of lease.
  • Manage Fleet workshop works and Health and Safety of all operatives.
  • Liaise with workshop foreman to ensure all work equipment is inspected, maintained and relevant certification is current.
  • Manage vehicle reallocation works including repairs and maintenance, collections and deliveries
  • Change the status/updates vehicles in Key2 and MID when they are returned to Widnes
  • Arrange for the service and repairs to vehicles following the vehicle inspection.
  • Determine if the damage to vehicles is worth repairing and value for money
  • Liaise with all suppliers to ensure vehicles are ready within the time scale
  • Attending to any ad hoc phone calls
  • Provide cover for other departmental calls and tasks, ensuring all departments needs are met in periods of absence, or increased work volumes
  • Manage manufacturer recalls when required
  • Ensure any subcontractors undertaking works on site have RAMS and PPE appropriate to their work activity in conjunction with the workshop foreman.
