  • A Senior Planner will be part of a team of planners (other seniors and apprentices). An ability to be part of a team to not only provide the contractual programming requirements of the scheme but also a desire and aptitude to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders is essential.

    Key responsibilities

    · Implementing the planning functions required on the project

    · Ensuring that programme pressure is never prioritised ahead of safe working practices

    · Allowing sufficient time in the schedule to safely complete the task

    · Ensuring that the construction sequence is safe to build and actively attempt to eliminate or reduce potential hazards where possible in the sequence

    · Updating and amending the contractual P6 project schedule with progress and change

    · Report accurately to internal and external stakeholders the position and changes of the project activities.

    · Effectively communicating construction programme requirements to CGT team, subcontractors, HE and stakeholders

    · Work on the monthly contract submission to the client in line with NEC 3 requirements and WI505 & WI515

    · Ensuring the programme reflects the current works information

    · Working closely with the commercial team to manage cost control function, risk and change management

    · Chair and facilitate planning meetings and collaborative planning sessions

    · Proactively seeking opportunities to better the schedule

    About you

    · An advanced user in primavera P6 planning software and TILOS (preferable skill)

    · Able to manage  and work in high quality complex programmes for the safe delivery of major infrastructure works

    · Proficient in updating and recording change and assessing impact within a programme.

    · Can assess and understand the impact of delay and disruption on the schedule and communicate accordingly in line with the contract

    · Administer comprehensive project controls systems to maintain the integrity of the schedule

    · Communicate with stakeholders at all levels and deliver relevant programme information to required timescales

    · Advanced proficiency in Microsoft tools (word, excel and PowerPoint)

    · Confident in producing monthly submission documentation to the client in line with NEC3 requirements and WI505 and WI515

    · To work quickly to produce programmes requested at a short notice

    · Confidently read drawings, specifications and contract information to allow review or production of programmes for incorporation into the schedule
