An inside IR35 opportunity exists for a competent Planner with recent experience creating and managing programs on projects that include utilities and in particular major powerlines.
This 6 month opportunity is based in Northern Scotland and requires for you to be based there.
Your duties will include –
- Planning & Scheduling – Develop and maintain fully resourced, logically linked programmes across all project stages.
- Interact daily with the project team advising and driving program milestones
- Delivery Oversight – Support the management and performance of contract programmes, ensuring alignment with commercial and operational objectives.
- Critical Path & Change Management – Identify project risks, analyse impacts, and implement mitigation measures with precision and confidence.
- Reporting & Insights – Provide regular planning updates, progress reports, KPIs, and strategic insights to project leadership.
- Interface & Collaboration – Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams, and Clients to maintain alignment and drive outcomes.
Requirements for this opportunity includes -
- Preferably a qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
- Proven experience in a planning role on major infrastructure/linear type projects.
- Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject, alongside Excel and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, earned value analysis, QSRA, and TRA methodologies.
- An analytical mindset with a sharp eye for programme risk and opportunity.
- Strong communication skills to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
- Willing to base yourself in the north of Scotland for 6 months.
