A contract opportunity exists with a tier one contractor for an experiencedSenior Quantity Surveyor on a full-time basis, in Surrey. Your previous experience managing the clients and subcontractor’s commercial aspects.

Responsibilities include to –

  • Oversee the commercial process for civil engineering projects, from inception to completion.
  • Change control, compensation events and applications for payment
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets and financial forecasts for construction projects.
  • Establish and develop commercial valuation process and management of procurement procedures.
  • Conduct thorough cost analysis, ensuring value for money and adherence to project budgets.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers and stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and propose alternative solutions.
  • Manage contract administration, including procurement, tender evaluations and negotiation of contracts ensuring prompt submission of estimate / tendering information to the client.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly cost/value reconciliations with analysis of project position
  • Monitor project progress, track expenses and prepare detailed financial reports and final accounts.
  • Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms.
  • Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc.
  • To lead, manage and motivate the project’s commercial staff and to establish its full commercial contribution to the organisation and specifically to ensure that relationships between the project and surveying functions are collaborative.

Requirements for this role include -

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specializing in civil engineering 
  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering industry standards and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and legal frameworks.
  • Proficient in using industry-specific software and tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
