Senior Quantity Surveyor - Energy Project - Yorkshire - Contract (Inside IR35)

Senior Quantity Surveyor currently required to join a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor, to join the commercial team delivering a major package on a large Energy Infrastructure project in Yorkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure schemes.

Working within a high-performing commercial team, you will be responsible for managing commercial performance across complex engineering and construction works, ensuring effective contract administration, change management and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial management of major infrastructure works from inception through to final account.
  • Administration of FIDIC forms of contract.
  • Preparation and management of applications for payment, valuations and cost reporting.
  • Management of compensation events, contract changes and variations.
  • Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors.
  • Forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management.
  • Preparation and negotiation of final accounts.
  • Risk and opportunity management.
  • Supporting project teams with contractual and commercial advice.
  • Producing accurate monthly commercial reports for senior management.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
  • Proven experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on major infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience administering FIDIC contracts.
  • Experience with Tier 1 contractors or major civil engineering projects.
  • Demonstrable background managing subcontractors and complex commercial packages.
  • Excellent change management and contract administration skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • MRICS or working towards chartership desirable.
