I am currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a £250 Million+ project currently being undertaken by a Tier 1 contractor in Cambridgeshire.
As the Senior QS you will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, and your responsibilities will include:
- assisting in the learning and development of junior/graduate surveyors,
- managing the preparation of commercial events and continuously recommending proposed actions.
- creation and development of templates and to accurately estimate construction costs for tendering purposes.
- negotiate new Contracts with the bids and tenders team. Vet Client contracts to ensure contractual terms are reasonable.
- build a QS resource capable to meet the needs of the business. Ensure each project has sufficient Commercial/QS resource to manage commercial and contractual matters.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts on a project by project basis.
- Working with project managers, site managers, project engineers and by carrying out site visits, have a good understanding of actual progress from site and ensure appropriate commercial records are being kept to support any variations and/or claims.
- Lead Procurement and Supply Chain Management. Cascade contractual obligations into the supply chain.
- Final account preparation and negotiation both upstream with Clients and downstream with Suppliers and Sub-contractors.
- Evaluate projects to gather cost and time information to be used to improve future performance. Collate a database of cost and time information from past projects to be used in planning and estimating costs for future projects.
- Require contract form understanding on NEC, ICE, MS1, and NWR Framework Agreements.
