Our client a regional based civil engineering contractor requires a Senior Site Agent to join their team on a permanent basis.

Requirements:
Experienced Senior Agent with vast infrastructure civils experience, both S38 and S278. Degree qualified, SMSTS, First Aid, NRSWA, CSCS Black Card, Temporary Works Supervisor, AP Lifting
Duties:
Attend Pre-start and Site Agents briefing meetings to gain understanding of project requirements, cost/time/contractual/SHEQ risks and allowances for plant, labour & materials. Read and understand contract documents, drawings and specifications Assist the Contracts Manager/ project Manager with the production of the construction programme and materials take-offs. Produce/assist in the production of method statements and risk assessments for Health & Safety Plan Manage/assist the planning and implementation of site set-up in accordance with CDM2015 and company procedures. Manage/assist efficient mobilisation of resources to site including applying for road opening notices, road closures etc. Manage/assist pre-commencement surveys and formally issue to client Manage/assist site induction and toolbox talk process in accordance with company procedures including issuing method statements and checking operative’s safety certificates. Enforce Company policy on PPE with all operatives, sub-contractors and visitors. Oversee site security. Carry out monitoring and up-dating of construction programmes in conjunction with the project manager/ contracts manager. Manage/assist production, up-dating and issuing of risk assessments and method statements during currency of project. Liaise with statutory utility companies regarding diversions, location of existing mains and/or installation of new mains. Manage health, safety, quality and environmental issues on site in accordance with CDM2015, current legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice and Company policies. Interpretation and implementation of Company Management systems – ISO 9001 Quality Management System; ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management System, Manage plant, labour and materials usage to minimise overuse, via reconciliations and good site control. Manage key time, quality, financial, environment and safety risks to success of project. Liaise with clients representatives/consultants on site in a professional manner. Manage plant and material deliveries to ensure the smooth running of the works. Manage negotiation and procurement of day to day materials in accordance with company procedures, as agreed with Contracts Manager. Manage sub-contractor programme and quality performance via notices to start, instructions, nonconformance reports, etc. Manage quality of work on site to ensure compliance with specification. Manage recording of changes via RFI's, early warnings, NCE’s and CVI's and notify the QS of effects. Place notices with clients, informing of any delay and/or disruption to our works. Protect company position via contractual correspondence, as agreed with Contracts Manager.
Represent company at progress meetings in a professional manager, including presenting progress reports and updated programmes. Manage recording of site records via ASITE and provide information to QS to produce cost/value reports. Liaise with QS to allow production of monthly valuations, keeping him/her informed of progress and additional works/delays. Manage reporting of accidents/near misses/service strikes to H&S department. Manage recording and submission of as-built information, including surveys, test results, CCTV surveys and video surveys. Manage materials/workmanship testing and submission to client. Produce and submit wage/bonus payments for directly employed staff to Contracts Manager for authorisation. Produce and submit s/c payments sheets for labour only subcontractors to Contracts Manager for authorisation. Cancel all utilities in writing (with copy to accounts supervisor), on vacating site. Manage snagging/handover process to ensure no defects at completion Keep photographic/contemporary records of progress/delays/extra work/unusual occurrences. Provide information for post contract review meeting - lessons learnt good and bad, plant, labour, materials usage – actual vs budgeted. Manage discipline/grievance of site staff and directly employed operatives on site in accordance with company procedures. Provide assistance to QS as required, to help produce most financially beneficial final account value. Maintain the H&S Plan throughout the contract and assist with the production of the H&S File. Ensure all as-built drawings are completed and submitted in a timely manner. Ensure material reconciliations are carried out. Assist the Contracts Manager with the production and update of the cost plan. Ensure that all actions arising from SHEQ audits are closed out. Endeavour to find ways to provide best practice and value engineering. Represent the business core values at all times
Skills/Qualifications:
Degree NVQ Level 4 in Construction Management or equivalent SMSTS CSCS Black First Aid Contractual knowledge of NEC, JCT and ICE Able to produce/update programmes using Asta Able to read/understand drawings/B of Qs/specifications Able to understand plant/labour/materials/subcontract allowances
