Freelance and perm opportunities exist for experienced Civil Structural Engineers proficient in the design of highways structures in accordance with Highways England or local authority specifications. Your extensive experience working for Consulting Engineer or local authorities is sought after.
Duties will include:
- Prepare design packages which include bridges, retaining walls, gantry bases etc.
- Make use of engineering software to produce engineering calculation.
- Make use of AutoCad and Civil 3D to produce engineering drawings.
- Ensure all design are within specifications and are constructable.
- Report to Project Managers and liaise with stakeholders.
- Liaise with delivery staff to ensure a successful implementation of the design.
- Solve any technical issues.
Requirements for this opportunity include –
- A civil engineering degree is advantageous.
- Extensive continuous experience as a Structural Design Engineer.
- Knowledge of concrete repair techniques, bridge waterproofing, bridge joints and structural investigations advantageous
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PDS Sign and the related structural design software.
- Solid knowledge of the required specifications
- Effective written and communications skills
- Chartered or actively pursuing chartership
