Here we have a great opportunity for a competent and experienced Senior Tunnelling Surveyor. Your experience of tunnel surveying and survey network processing are sought after.
Duties include -
- Assist with the day-to-day management of Survey team.
- Carry out net control surveys in the tunnel and on surface as required.
- Undertake the post processing of survey data in a least squares programme (Star*net)
- Process wriggle surveys and tunnel as-builts in Amberg software.
- Provide technical expertise for the TBM guidance systems when required.
- Processing the TBM Guidance System survey window traverse measurements and calculate the updated coordinate values for the guiding brackets.
- Install and maintain monitoring instrumentation in the tunnel and carry out manual monitoring as required.
- Carry out shaft surveys including transferring surface coordinates to the underground network.
- Highlight any out of tolerance or anomalies to the Survey manager.
- Prepare and support gyro check surveys.
- Provide full briefing on survey documentation (RAMS, TASK briefing sheet) to new starter or visitor.
Requirements for this position -
- Degree/Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Engineering or closely related discipline
- 5-10 years surveying experience
- Advanced knowledge of tunnelling construction or mining process
- Previous experience managing/supervising a survey team gained in a similar role
- Proficient with modern survey hardware and software systems including total stations, levels, GNSS, laser scanners and Gyroscope Theodolite
- Extensive experience in the installation and control of large control networks and post-processing in a least squares programme
- Knowledge of TBM and NATM tunnelling methods
