We are currently supporting a major civil engineering contractor and seeking a highly experienced Senior Works Manager to oversee delivery of complex earthworks, drainage, structures, and pavement packages on a large infrastructure project.
As Senior Works Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating site activities across multiple civils disciplines. Typical responsibilities include
- Managing day‑to‑day site operations across earthworks, deep drainage, reinforced concrete structures, kerbs, pavements, and general civils.
- Planning works, allocating plant, labour, and resources effectively to meet programme deadlines.
- Ensuring all works are delivered to high quality standards and in line with project specifications and method statements.
- Leading Foremen/Supervisors and subcontractor teams; ensuring safe, efficient delivery of works.
- Conducting daily briefings, toolbox talks, and maintaining strong HSE standards.
- Collaborating with Engineers on setting out, design clarifications, ITPs, and production of site records.
- Communicating effectively with client representatives, project managers, and planners to maintain progress and resolve issues.
About You
- Experienced Senior Works Manager / Works Manager in civil engineering.
- Proven delivery of earthworks, deep drainage, structures (RC), utilities, and pavement construction.
- Strong understanding of temporary works, sequencing, and programme delivery.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- CSCS (Black/Gold) & SMSTS essential.
- Able to drive productivity, quality, and safety across multiple work fronts.
