Carmichael are seeking an experienced SHE Advisor to join the team on a major infrastructure project based in Plymouth.

Day to day Responsibilities:

  • Support the Health and Safety Team with daily administrative tasks to ensure business procedures and processes are followed
  • Assist in making improvements and implement required changes
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders  in relation to Health and Safety matters, i.e. booking inductions ensuring administration of all relevant paperwork in conjunction with hiring managers
  • To attend, send out invites and organise room bookings for all Health and Safety Team meetings and events, record minutes and distribute as required
  • Monitor the Safety and Induction email boxes and maintain Safety Team diary
  • Administrate Project Wise & Datascope
  • Maintain all project H&S registers e.g. Toolbox Talks, Inductions, NP24
  • Immediately report problems/failures of the administration function that may impact on the project to Line Manager
  • Respond positively to changing business circumstances and able to manage multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the project requirements and administer accordingly
  • Adhere to all organisation policies and procedures
  • Build and maintain good relationships with stakeholders by adopting the most appropriate approach to deal with people and situations
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders of varying levels, managing their expectations in terms of delivery of appropriate and accurate information
  • From time to time, you may be expected to be part of special project as are reasonably required of your job role.  
  • To cover H&S Coordinator as and when required

 

Key Skills:

  • Admin experience in a similar or supporting post
  • Excellent IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise effectively
