Site Agent – Tunnelling
We are looking for an experienced Site Agent to join a major civil engineering project, working with an established main contractor.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Agent with a strong background in tunnelling, underground works, heavy civils or major infrastructure, who is confident managing complex construction activities and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of major civil engineering works.
- Manage Sub Agents, Site Engineers, supervisors and subcontractors.
- Coordinate construction activities to ensure works are delivered safely and in line with programme.
- Manage subcontractor performance and interfaces between different work packages.
- Review and oversee RAMS, method statements, permits and construction documentation.
- Coordinate temporary works and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
- Lead short-term planning and monitor progress against the construction programme.
- Identify potential delays, technical issues and buildability concerns.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, engineering, commercial and planning teams.
- Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and environmental compliance.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Site Agent on major civil engineering projects.
- A strong main contractor / Tier 1 contractor background.
- Experience in tunnelling, underground works, shafts, heavy civils or major infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of construction sequencing and temporary works.
- Experience managing engineering teams and specialist subcontractors.
- Good commercial and programme awareness.
- Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, such as a degree, HNC or HND.
- Current CSCS.
- SMSTS.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
