Our client a major tier one contractor is looking to hire a permanent Site Agent for their A51 project in Swynnerton.
They are proposing to set up a temporary works compound in Swynnerton for HS2, to the south-east of where the A51 and A519 cross. This site will service a number of trial boreholes and the associated monitoring will be undertaken off site in various locations between Crewe and Swynnerton
To manage a section of works on the HS2 GI package leading a multi disciplinary team comprising Sub Agent, Section Engineer and Site Engineers and supporting the Project Management team.
Role:
Experienced in the agent role;
Able to clearly communicate the requirements of a safe system of work to ensure that these are followed accurately. Suggests and implements improvements to systems;
Strong communication skills and conflict management;
Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity, including managing others in this regard;
Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights;
Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility and supervise others in this regard;
Holds a current driving license and CSCS Card. SMSTS qualified;
Excellent team player and team leader, able to work competently and independently without supervision. Reports back as necessary to update Line Management;
Able and willing to make decisions following consideration of options based on best available information;
Strong communication skills with track record of solution orientated approach to issue resolution;
Excellent role model for development of junior staff and demonstrates required behaviours to align to business, project and team objectives.
Skills:
* Previously worked as a Site Agent or experienced Sub Agent looking for a step up in career.
* Hold a valid CSCS card.
* BSc or BEng level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HNC/HND or the equivalent.
