Position Overview: As a Permanent Site Agent based in Greatworth, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing construction projects from start to finish. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with quality and safety standards. Your leadership skills, construction expertise, and effective communication will be essential in coordinating the various aspects of the construction process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Management: Lead and manage construction projects from inception to completion, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

  2. Team Leadership: Supervise and coordinate the activities of on-site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring efficient collaboration and effective communication.

  3. Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce adherence to project specifications, quality standards, and construction best practices to ensure the delivery of a high-quality end product.

  4. Health and Safety: Implement and maintain strict health and safety protocols on the construction site to ensure the well-being of all personnel, in compliance with relevant regulations.

  5. Budget and Cost Control: Manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and make informed decisions to ensure projects are completed within the allocated budget.

  6. Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying critical milestones and potential delays, and taking proactive measures to keep the project on track.

  7. Stakeholder Communication: Foster effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project goals are understood and met.

  8. Problem Solving: Identify challenges and obstacles that may arise during construction and develop innovative solutions to overcome them, minimizing disruptions and maintaining project progress.

  9. Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, and relevant correspondence.

  10. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that projects are executed with minimal disruptions.

  11. Contract Administration: Ensure that contractual obligations are met, and changes are documented and communicated appropriately to all relevant parties.

  12. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, construction technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a Site Agent or similar role in the construction industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality results.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional, Construction Manager) are a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a permanent, full-time position based in Greatworth, requiring on-site presence.
