Our client, a Tier 1 contractor with a strong pipeline of work in Scotland, are seeking a Site Agent to join their team, working on a variety of projects within renewable energy. This role involves contributing to Scotland’s energy infrastructure by constructing new substations to support the country’s transition to net zero.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Site Agent, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading all site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, adhering to company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Ensuring health, safety, and environmental regulations are strictly followed, including managing risk assessments, method statements, and site inductions.
- Overseeing the work of engineers, foremen, and other site staff to ensure high standards of technical performance and record-keeping.
- Managing relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain to foster positive working environments and address project needs.
- Planning and monitoring project programmes to ensure timely completion, adjusting as necessary to account for changes in project scope or resources.
- Managing project costs and resources effectively, providing accurate financial forecasting and controlling budgets to maximise profitability.
- Promoting the use of digital construction tools and technologies, including BIM, to streamline project delivery and improve accuracy.
- Overseeing procurement of materials, subcontractors, and plant to ensure timely and cost-effective project progression.
- Developing and mentoring staff on site, addressing performance issues where necessary and identifying opportunities for professional growth.
- Managing any commercial or contractual risks, ensuring that potential liabilities are communicated and addressed promptly.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
- CSCS Level (Academically or Professionally Qualified/Supervisory/Manager)
- SMSTS certification
- Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Engineer managing large civil engineering projects
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
