Our client, a Tier 1 contractor with a strong pipeline of work in Scotland, are seeking a Site Agent to join their team, working on a variety of projects within renewable energy. This role involves contributing to Scotland’s energy infrastructure by constructing new substations to support the country’s transition to net zero.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Site Agent, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading all site activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget, adhering to company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Ensuring health, safety, and environmental regulations are strictly followed, including managing risk assessments, method statements, and site inductions.
  • Overseeing the work of engineers, foremen, and other site staff to ensure high standards of technical performance and record-keeping.
  • Managing relationships with clients, consultants, and the supply chain to foster positive working environments and address project needs.
  • Planning and monitoring project programmes to ensure timely completion, adjusting as necessary to account for changes in project scope or resources.
  • Managing project costs and resources effectively, providing accurate financial forecasting and controlling budgets to maximise profitability.
  • Promoting the use of digital construction tools and technologies, including BIM, to streamline project delivery and improve accuracy.
  • Overseeing procurement of materials, subcontractors, and plant to ensure timely and cost-effective project progression.
  • Developing and mentoring staff on site, addressing performance issues where necessary and identifying opportunities for professional growth.
  • Managing any commercial or contractual risks, ensuring that potential liabilities are communicated and addressed promptly.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
  • CSCS Level (Academically or Professionally Qualified/Supervisory/Manager)
  • SMSTS certification
  • Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Engineer managing large civil engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
