A leading Tier 1 contractor with a robust pipeline of major civil engineering projects is seeking an experienced and dynamic Site Agent to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-profile civil engineering projects valued between £40m and £60m.
Engineers with a strong background in highways and/or flood defence are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and program project activities to ensure efficient delivery.
- Monitor and control financial performance, including cost reporting.
- Lead and oversee Sub Agents, Section Engineers, and the wider delivery team.
- Set and monitor targets and KPIs to align with project objectives.
- Manage plant, materials, and subcontractor activities.
- Develop and oversee traffic management plans.
- Liaise with clients and chair project meetings.
- Manage project administration, quality assurance, audits, permits, and records.
- Supervise setting out and ensure accurate as-built documentation.
- Implement company procedures, protocols, and safety measures.
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
- Interpret and implement design specifications effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.
Key Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, along with CSCS and SMSTS certification.
- Professional accreditation (or working towards it).
- Extensive experience in highways construction with Tier 1 or principal UK contractors.
- Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial awareness.
- Proven leadership and management skills with a track record of delivering similar projects as a Site Agent.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and confident with a "can-do" attitude.
