A leading Tier 1 contractor with a robust pipeline of major civil engineering projects is seeking an experienced and dynamic Site Agent to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-profile civil engineering projects valued between £40m and £60m.

Engineers with a strong background in highways and/or flood defence are encouraged to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and program project activities to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Monitor and control financial performance, including cost reporting.
  • Lead and oversee Sub Agents, Section Engineers, and the wider delivery team.
  • Set and monitor targets and KPIs to align with project objectives.
  • Manage plant, materials, and subcontractor activities.
  • Develop and oversee traffic management plans.
  • Liaise with clients and chair project meetings.
  • Manage project administration, quality assurance, audits, permits, and records.
  • Supervise setting out and ensure accurate as-built documentation.
  • Implement company procedures, protocols, and safety measures.
  • Prepare method statements and risk assessments.
  • Interpret and implement design specifications effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards.

 

Key Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, along with CSCS and SMSTS certification.
  • Professional accreditation (or working towards it).
  • Extensive experience in highways construction with Tier 1 or principal UK contractors.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial awareness.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with a track record of delivering similar projects as a Site Agent.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and confident with a "can-do" attitude.
