Site Agent – Highways Projects
Location: Guildford / Chichester
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Agent to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering major highways infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex schemes including earthworks, drainage, surfacing, and structural packages within Tier 1 and Tier 2 environments.
The Role
As Site Agent, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring successful delivery of works safely, on time, and within budget. You will play a key role in coordinating site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders across a fast-paced highways project.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all site activities on highways projects
- Lead and coordinate site teams, engineers, and subcontractors
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality standards
- Monitor programme progress and drive delivery targets
- Manage RAMS, permits, and site documentation
- Liaise with clients, design teams, and senior management
- Oversee works including earthworks, drainage, structures, and surfacing
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Agent / Senior Site Agent on highways projects
- Strong background working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors
- Solid understanding of highways construction methods and sequencing
- Experience managing multiple site disciplines (earthworks, structures, drainage, etc.)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- SMSTS, CSCS (Black/White), and relevant civil engineering qualification preferred
