CarmichaelUK is working with a major Tier 1 contractor delivering paving, surfacing and infrastructure works at RAF base in Oxfordshire, as part of a significant airfield and MOD infrastructure programme. We are seeking an experienced Site Agent with a strong background in civil infrastructure and pavements to lead site delivery.
As Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for the safe, efficient and high‑quality delivery of paving and associated infrastructure works within a live airfield environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day‑to‑day site operations across paving, surfacing (asphalt and concrete), drainage and utilities.
- Leading and coordinating subcontractors, supervisors and site teams.
- Planning and sequencing works to meet programme requirements and operational constraints.
- Producing and reviewing method statements, RAMS, programmes and ITPs.
- Ensuring high standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
- Liaising with client representatives, project management teams and stakeholders.
- Managing site logistics, materials, plant and temporary works interfaces.
- Driving progress reporting, quality assurance and as‑built documentation.
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Agent (or strong Sub Agent ready to step up) on paving and infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in asphalt, concrete paving, highways, airfields or similar civils works.
- Comfortable working in regulated or secure environments (MOD / airfield experience advantageous).
- Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Confident managing subcontractors and multiple work fronts.
