Site Engineer (Piling)

Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a specialist piling contractor on a major infrastructure project near King's Cross Station. The project involves the construction of a secant piled wall.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with piling and geotechnical experience to support the delivery of a technically challenging scheme during a critical phase of works.

Responsibilities

  • Manage quality assurance and quality control activities for allocated piling operations.

  • Review, implement and maintain compliance with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).

  • Inspect reinforcement cages upon delivery and verify compliance with project requirements.

  • Coordinate piling sequences and daily work activities with the Project Manager and site team.

  • Complete pile records and pile logs accurately and within required timescales.

  • Maintain and update concrete cube registers and associated quality documentation.

  • Raise, manage and close out non-conformance reports (NCRs) where required.

  • Ensure all records, inspections and quality documentation are completed to project standards.

  • Support safe delivery of works in accordance with company and client procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on piling, ground engineering or geotechnical projects.

  • Experience working with secant piled walls, rotary bored piling, CFA piling or similar techniques is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance processes, ITPs and inspection requirements.

  • Experience maintaining site records, pile logs and quality documentation.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate effectively with operational teams.

  • CSCS Card essential.

  • First Aid and SMSTS/SSSTS beneficial but not essential.
