Carmichael UK are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join a major section of the HS2 programme in Northamptonshire. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of one of the UK's largest and most complex infrastructure projects, working alongside a Tier 1 contractor delivering significant earthworks, structures, highways and civil engineering works.
As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of construction activities, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Setting out and surveying works in accordance with design drawings and specifications
- Managing and recording QA documentation, ITPs and inspection records
- Producing and reviewing as-built surveys and drawings
- Ensuring site activities comply with project quality, environmental and safety procedures
- Managing subcontractors and monitoring progress against programme
- Identifying and resolving engineering and technical issues on site
- Supporting Section Engineers and Site Management teams with daily delivery requirements
- Liaising with design teams and stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery
- Maintaining accurate site records and reports
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Strong setting out experience using GPS and robotic total stations
- Experience delivering earthworks, structures, highways, drainage or reinforced concrete works
- Good understanding of QA procedures, ITPs and technical documentation
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- CSCS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND or Degree)
Desirable
- Experience working on HS2 or other major infrastructure schemes
- Temporary Works awareness
- EUSR, SSSTS or SMSTS certification
- Knowledge of digital engineering and survey software
