Site Engineer - Carbon Capture Project – North East – Contract (Inside IR35)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Engineer to join a major carbon capture infrastructure project, playing a key role in the delivery of one of the UK's most significant low-carbon developments. This is a chance to be involved in a landmark project featuring extensive utilities installation, reinforced concrete structures, earthworks and heavy civil engineering works.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of key construction activities across a large-scale carbon capture facility. Working closely with the Section Engineer and Site Management team, you will be responsible for setting out, quality assurance and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting out for utilities, drainage, reinforced concrete and infrastructure works
- Managing surveying activities using GPS and robotic total station equipment
- Producing and maintaining accurate site records
- Ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings and quality standards
- Completing ITPs, inspection records and QA documentation
- Supporting subcontractor management and site coordination
- Reviewing drawings and identifying potential construction issues
- Assisting with temporary works implementation and monitoring
- Monitoring progress against programme and reporting issues
- Ensuring health, safety and environmental standards are maintained
- Supporting permit systems, RAMS reviews and site briefings
Project Scope
The project includes:
- Major carbon capture and energy infrastructure construction
- Large-scale reinforced concrete structures and foundations
- Buried services and utilities installation
- Drainage and associated earthworks
- Access roads and site-wide infrastructure
- Mechanical and electrical interface works
Requirements
- Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure projects
- Strong setting out experience using GPS and Total Station equipment
- Experience with utilities, drainage and reinforced concrete works
- Knowledge of QA procedures, ITPs and inspection processes
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- CSCS Card essential
- SMSTS or SSSTS desirable
- First Aid at Work desirable
