Carmichael UK are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in Gloucestershire.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a long-term project involving a range of civil engineering works including highways construction, drainage, earthworks, structures and associated infrastructure. You will play a key role in supporting the delivery team, ensuring works are completed safely, to specification and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting out for highways, drainage, earthworks and structural works
- Producing and maintaining accurate site records and as-built information
- Managing quality assurance processes, inspections and testing
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Supporting subcontractors and ensuring work is delivered to programme
- Preparing permits, ITPs, check sheets and site documentation
- Assisting with temporary works coordination and implementation
- Promoting high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
- Liaising with Site Agents, Section Engineers and Project Managers
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or major civil engineering projects
- Proven setting out experience using Leica, Trimble or similar equipment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of QA processes, ITPs and construction documentation
- CSCS Card
- HNC/HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Full UK driving licence

- Experience working for Tier 1 contractors
- National Highways project experience
- Temporary Works awareness
- SMSTS or SSSTS
