Site engineer

We are recruiting for an amazing opportunity for a committed and dedicated Site Engineer for one of the most exciting infrastructure projects in the UK. Hinckley Point C will be the first nuclear energy plant built in the UK for over 30 years and you could be part of the team, which deliver this innovative energy project. Working on this project will not only gain you valuable skills and experience, but you will enhance your future career prospects by having worked on this project.
The works involved, which you will be working on, will be main tunnelling package, which include the Primary Lining, Waterproofing and Secondary Lining Works. You will be joining a highly skilled in which you will learn new skills and utilise your existing abilities. This is a contract role for 12 months.
As the Site engineer your responsibilities will include;
  • Advise on the preparation of start of shift safety briefings and constantly monitor safety.
  • Carry out Profile control using a total station and the Amberg system. Resolve any technical issues in maintaining the profile.
  • Ensure works on site are carried out safely with due regard to the protection of the workforce, public and the environment.
  • Report all construction issues to the Sub-Agent/Shift Manager.
  • Ensure all works are constructed efficiently, to the required quality and in accordance with the required contract programme.
  • Ensure all certificates, assurance and compliance certificates are generated and collated.
  • Prepare and review Method Statements and ITP's.
  • Manage effective use of materials and control of waste.
  • Verify and sign-off Check Sheets.
  • Carry out inspections as required by ITP's. Carry out compliance checks as indicated by the ITP's.
  • Liaise with Tunnel Sub-Agent, SCL Inspectors and SCL Design Engineers.
