Position Overview: The Site Engineer is a crucial member of the construction team responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of construction projects in Brackley. The role involves ensuring that construction activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and according to the project plans and specifications. The Site Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Coordination:

    • Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
    • Assist in developing construction schedules and work plans.
    • Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and resources.
    • Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure seamless project execution.
  2. Quality Control:

    • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify and rectify any construction defects or issues.
    • Implement quality control processes to maintain high construction standards.
  3. Health and Safety:

    • Ensure that all construction activities adhere to health and safety regulations and standards.
    • Conduct safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
    • Promote a culture of safety awareness among the project team.
  4. Technical Expertise:

    • Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
    • Resolve technical challenges and provide solutions to unexpected issues that may arise during construction.
    • Verify that construction methods and materials are in line with industry best practices.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily reports, progress logs, and technical drawings.
    • Generate reports for project managers detailing construction progress, challenges, and solutions.
  6. Stakeholder Communication:

    • Collaborate effectively with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals.
    • Address any concerns or queries from stakeholders and provide regular project updates.
  7. Site Management:

    • Manage day-to-day construction site activities, including supervision of labor, equipment, and resources.
    • Ensure proper organization and storage of construction materials and equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer or similar role in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with construction software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and timelines.
  • Valid driver's license.
