Carmichael are recruiting for solid Site Engineers, with experience on Highway schemes, to join a tier contractor.
You will be delivering a number of National Emergency Retrofit Areas (NEAR) along a section of motorway. The scope of works includes site clearance, earthworks, retaining structures, slope stability, drainage, pavements, VRS, gantry installation, street furniture and signs
Duties will inlude -
The site engineer will be required to carry out the following:
- Support senior engineers and above to deliver the scope of works.
- Monitor subcontractors works and progress on site.
- Keep a detailed diary and record / raise any issues identified on site.
- Check subcontractors works to ensure that this is in accordance with works information.
- Maintain progress, testing and quality trackers.
- Record as-built information and contribute towards developing handover packs.
- Monitor health and safety on site, ensuring subcontractors are working in accordance with approved safe systems of work.
- Produce and brief permits to work on site.
- Carry out limited setting out where required.
- Carry out limited surveys where required.
- Draft and distribute start of shift briefings.
- Monitor quality and raise any issues encountered on site.
- Track daily works progress using Aphex
Requirements for this position -
- Engineering Qualification
- Prior experience on major highways projects
- Experience within the most, if not all, of the following areas: site clearance, earthworks, retaining structures, slope stability, drainage, pavements, VRS, gantry installation, street furniture and signs
- 4+ years post graduate experience
- Self Starter, keen to learn and progress on a project involving many aspects of Engineering
