Carmichael are recruiting for an experienced highways Site Engineer, for a tier one contractor, to aid in the delivery of a PRS scheme starting in January.
The scope of works includes site clearance, earthworks, retaining structures, slope stability, drainage, pavement, VRS, technology, gantry installation, street furniture and signs.
Extensive highways experience is a must, as is familiarity with the majority of the dsiciplines above.
This position could fall outside of IR35, subject to an IR35 assessment taking place
Responsibilities will include -
- Support senior engineers and above to deliver the scope of works.
- Monitor subcontractors works and progress on site.
- Keep a detailed diary and record/raise any issues identified on site.
- Check subcontractors works to ensure that this is in accordance with works information.
- Maintain progress, testing and quality trackers.
- Record as-built information and contribute towards developing handover packs.
- Monitor health and safety on site, ensuring subcontractors are working in accordance with approved safe systems of work.
- Produce and brief permits to work on site.
- Carry out limited setting out/surveys where required.
- Draft and distribute start of shift briefings.
- Monitor quality and raise any issues encountered on site.
- Track daily works progress using Aphex.
- Re-measure works completed on site and keep detailed records.
Requirements for this position -
- Extensive highways experience for a principal contractor
- Knowledge of site clearance, earthworks, retaining structures, slope stability, drainage, pavement, VRS, technology, gantry installation, street furniture and signs.
- Safety Critical Medical
- Highways passport
- Valid CSCS card
