Carmichael UK are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Engineer specializing in Roads and Networks work to join our team at Hinkley Point C. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of the road and network packages, adhering to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of road and network construction activities on site.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, technical standards, and safety regulations.
  • Perform site surveys, setting out, and levelling to ensure accurate construction.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to the project management team.
  • Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with design and engineering standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, materials usage, and any issues encountered.
  • Support the resolution of technical or construction-related challenges.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to health and safety protocols on site.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience delivering major projects for a tier 1 contractor 
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in setting out and levelling for accurate construction.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and surveying instruments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working on infrastructure projects within the nuclear sector.
  • Familiarity with construction standards and requirements specific to high-security environments.
  • Professional accreditation or membership with a recognized engineering body.
