Carmichael UK are working with a Tier 1 contractor delivering high-quality external works and landscaping packages on a major civil engineering scheme in Gloucestershire.
We’re looking for a Site Engineer with strong landscaping experience to join the team and support the successful delivery of hard and soft landscaping works.
You’ll be responsible for setting out, QA documentation, and assisting the site management team to ensure the works are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities

Setting out for hard and soft landscaping, external works, and associated civils.

Carrying out as-built surveys and maintaining accurate records.

Preparing and managing Quality Assurance (QA) documents including ITPs, check sheets, and redline drawings.

Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and designers to resolve on-site issues.

Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with design, specification, and safety standards.

Using Cat & Genny equipment safely to locate underground services.

Supporting environmental and safety compliance across the landscaping packages.
Requirements

Previous experience working as a Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer on landscaping or external works packages.

Proficient in setting out using Leica or Trimble equipment.

Strong understanding of QA processes and documentation (ITPs, checklists, as-builts).

Valid Cat & Genny (Cable Avoidance) qualification/ticket – essential.

CSCS card.

Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction-related field.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
