We are recruiting a permanent Site Engineer with strong drainage experience to join our delivery team on the HS2 project in Aylesbury. You will support the construction of complex drainage and associated civil engineering works as part of one of the UK’s largest infrastructure programmes, ensuring technical excellence, safety, and quality throughout delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Set out and manage drainage works including foul, surface water, attenuation systems, culverts, headwalls, and outfalls.
- Ensure works are delivered in line with design drawings, specifications, HS2 standards, and environmental requirements.
- Carry out QA inspections, complete ITPs, and maintain accurate as-built records.
- Support subcontractor management, coordinating day-to-day engineering activities on site.
- Assist with method statements, risk assessments, and task briefings.
- Monitor progress against programme and highlight technical or sequencing issues.
- Work closely with site management, design teams, and temporary works coordinators to resolve technical queries.
- Ensure strict compliance with HS2 health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover of drainage assets.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer on drainage-focused civil engineering projects.
- Experience working on major infrastructure schemes
- Strong knowledge of drainage systems, earthworks interfaces, and utilities coordination.
- Competent with surveying equipment (GPS, Total Station, laser levels).
- Ability to manage digital QA records and interpret technical drawings.
Qualifications
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- CSCS card essential; SMSTS/SSSTS and Temporary Works Awareness beneficial.
- Full UK driving licence.
