Site Engineer – RIng Road - Earthworks and Drainage
Location: Agratas Ring Road, Bridgwater
Project: Major Roads & Infrastructure Works
Contract: Permanent / Freelance (open to both)
We are currently recruiting an experienced Site Engineer to join our team on the Agratas Ring Road project in Bridgwater. This is a key highways scheme involving significant earthworks, drainage, and piling works.
Role & Responsibilities

Setting out and surveying for highways and road works

Managing and coordinating earthworks, drainage, and piling activities

Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme

Supervising subcontractors and direct labour

Producing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments

Carrying out quality checks and completing ITPs

Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

Liaising with site management, design teams, and clients
Requirements
-
Previous experience as a Site Engineer on highways or road projects

Strong background in earthworks, drainage, and piling
-
Competent with setting-out equipment (GPS, Total Station)

Good understanding of highways specifications and construction methodology

CSCS card (required)

SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)

Ability to work independently and as part of a site team
