Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to support the HS2 project in Northamptonshire. This role is ideally suited to a detail-oriented engineer with strong experience in technical documentation, quality assurance, and site records, rather than day-to-day setting out.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring technical compliance and quality across the project, with a strong focus on documentation and assurance processes.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparation, review, and management of ITPs, QA documentation, and site records

Producing and maintaining RAMS, permits to work, and compliance documentation

Supporting temporary works and permit processes

Ensuring works are delivered in line with project specifications and quality standards

Liaising with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate and up to date

Supporting audits, inspections, and handover documentation
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:

Proven experience as a Site Engineer or Section Engineer on major infrastructure projects

Experience working on HS2 or similar large-scale rail schemes (highly desirable)

Strong knowledge of ITPs, QA processes, permits, and technical documentation

A good understanding of health, safety, and environmental compliance

Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills

A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
