Site Engineer
Location: Oxfordshire area
We are seeking two experienced Site Engineers to support a major programme of archaeological works.This is a fast-paced, site-based role requiring a mix of surveying capability and strong coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities

Setting out using GPS/GNSS equipment (grids, trench locations, site boundaries)

Monitoring and reporting subcontractor progress against programme

Issuing and managing dig permits / permits to break ground

Coordinating with archaeologists, subcontractors, and the wider project team

Identifying and resolving delays and site constraints

Maintaining accurate site records, surveys, and progress logs
Requirements

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on civil, enabling, or infrastructure projects

Competent in GPS/GNSS surveying equipment (e.g. Leica, Trimble, Topcon)

Strong understanding of site processes, permits, and health & safety

Ability to manage and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders

Proactive approach to problem-solving and programme tracking
