Job Title: Site Engineer (Civil / Earthworks)

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Engineer to join a major civil engineering project in Oxford. The successful candidate will play a key role in planning and delivering site works, with a focus on earthworks operations and technical site engineering support.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and programme site works in coordination with the Site Manager and project team
- Produce and manage dig permits and ensure compliance with site procedures
- Carry out basic setting-out duties using Leica GPS equipment
- Support and oversee earthworks operations, including cut/fill control and progress tracking
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification
- Liaise with subcontractors, plant operators, and project management team
- Maintain accurate site records, as-builts, and quality documentation
- Assist with QA checks and ensure adherence to design drawings and specifications
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
- Competent in setting out using Leica GPS (or similar total station/GNSS systems)
- Experience in earthworks supervision and site coordination
- Ability to plan and programme works effectively
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures on construction sites
- CSCS card required (or equivalent site certification)
- SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable)
