Carmichael UK are looking for an experienced Site Engineer to work on a Major Highways Project in Manchester.
You will be reporting directly to the Senior Engineer, this role is to ensure that construction projects are completed accurately and safely. You will undertake the delivery operations for a specific discipline (e.g. roadworks) to ensure all elements are delivered safely, to the required quality, on time and within budget, all in line with the scheme design and associated highway specifications and in compliance with the Development Consent Order requirements.
The role may involve a mobilisation stage of 3-5 months before c. 3 years of construction starting in June 2026. Post-construction support for handover into operations will also be required.
Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the clients way of working.

Ensuring that site surveys and records are provided as required.

Put safety above all else in your role.

Working with project managers, site managers, supervisors and suppliers to coordinate, develop and review safe system compliance and other daily processes.

Ensure all on site activities are recorded through daily diaries, production control schedules and photographs.

Ensuring permits, RAMS, QA documents are in place in timely manner and completed as relevant to your works.

Reviewing drawings and raising technical queries relating to the design team.

Adopt a Right First-Time approach to quality and avoid rework.

Be aware of and work to the short-term programming and sequencing of works aligned to the main Programme.

Notable experience delivering infrastructure projects in a site role
