Position: Site Engineer (Earthworks)

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join a tier 1 contractor working on the HS2 project. This role focuses on the completion of earthworks, requiring precision in setting out, monitoring, and managing site operations to ensure that construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting Out: Accurately set out earthworks and other construction activities on site, ensuring all work aligns with design specifications and project plans.
- Surveying: Conduct site surveys, including the use of GPS and other surveying equipment, to establish site levels and boundaries.
- Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of work performed, ensuring compliance with all project requirements and industry standards.
- Site Supervision: Oversee and coordinate the work of subcontractors and site personnel, ensuring adherence to project schedules and safety protocols.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed records of site activities, progress reports, and any issues or variations, communicating regularly with the Project Manager and other stakeholders.
- Health & Safety: Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all site staff.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any technical issues or unforeseen challenges that arise during the construction process.
- Documentation: Ensure all setting out data and construction records are properly documented and stored.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in site engineering, with a focus on earthworks and setting out.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in the use of GPS, Total Station, and other surveying equipment. Familiarity with CAD software and other relevant engineering tools.
- Certifications: Valid CSCS card and other relevant construction certifications.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, construction processes, and health and safety regulations.
