Carmichael UK is recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering a major highways project in Cambridgeshire.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a well-structured, large-scale scheme, supporting the delivery of core highways works including pavements, kerbing, and drainage.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day site delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, accurately, and in line with programme and specification.
Key responsibilities include:

Setting out and overseeing highways works including pavements, kerbing, and drainage

Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards

Carrying out QA checks and maintaining accurate site records

Supporting subcontractor management and coordinating site activities

Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements

Assisting with as-built information and handover documentation
About You
To be considered for this role, you will have:

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on highways or civil engineering projects

Strong knowledge of pavement construction, kerbing, and drainage works

Experience working on Tier 1 or large-scale highways schemes (desirable)

A good understanding of highways specifications and industry standards

A qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent
