Carmichael UK is working with a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering works on the HS2 project in Northamptonshire. We are currently seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of PCC installation and reinforced concrete works on this major infrastructure programme.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will play a key role in the day-to-day engineering delivery of works on site. This position will suit someone with a strong technical background who is confident working on complex civil engineering packages within a high-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Setting out and engineering support for PCC installation works

Use of Trimble surveying equipment for setting out and as-built surveys

Supervision of reinforcement fixing and concrete pours

Oversight of waterproofing works, including sprayed and compartmental systems

Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications, and programme

Completion and management of QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built records

Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and engineering teams

Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality
About You

Proven experience as a Site Engineer on major civil or infrastructure projects

Hands-on experience with PCC installation, reinforcement, and concrete pours

Strong knowledge of Trimble surveying systems

Waterproofing experience (sprayed and compartmental) highly desirable

Ability to work independently and as part of a wider delivery team

CSCS card (essential); HS2 or major project experience advantageous
