We have the pleasure of recruiting for A site engineer that has utilities experience to joining the enabling works at the A30

The scheme is 8.7 miles long and will provide a 70mph high-quality dual carriageway between Chiverton Cross Junction and Carland Cross Junction, whilst maintaining the existing A30 as a local road.

 

Scope of works:

·         Setting outline and level for utility diversions

·         Undertaking as-built surveys

·         Undertaking quality control checks, witnessing testing and maintaining quality assurance documents (i.e. check-sheets, Inspection and Test Plans)

·         Ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with the works information

·         Record keeping, maintaining a daily site diary, ensuring that any commercial information is captured

·         Capturing progress photographs

·         Keeping track of as-built quantities

·         Undertaking SHE inspections

·         Inputting into the 4 week lookahead programme

·         Raising permits to work (i.e. permits to dig, hot works permits etc.)

·         CAT scanning work areas to detect any underground services

·         Briefing of permits and toolbox talks

·         Raising any non-conformance reports where necessary

·         Management of any apprentice engineers as required

Skills, experience, and additional requirements:

·         Capable of using Trimble setting out equipment (TSC3 or similar)

·         CSCS Card relevant to appointment

·         SSSTS or SMSTS certification preferred

·         CAT and GENNY trained preferred

·         Laptop with AutoCAD preferred

·         Familiar with Inspection and Test Plans and quality assurance documentation

·         Previous highways or utilities experience preferred

·         Strong communicator with a drive on health, safety, and quality

·         Ability to work well within a team

·         Capable of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
