My client, a tier one contractor, is currently seeking a Site Manager to work on 2 projects just north of Cheltenham as part of a major water framework that’s coming to an end.

The duties are as follows:

• Revise as and when required but in any event not less than monthly the project Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plan (HASEMP)
• To raise Non-conformance reports for works that do not meet the specification
• Ensure all “as constructed” records are provided to the CDMC for inclusion within the Health and Safety File in a timely manner following scheme completion
• Ensure method statements and risk assessments are prepared, reviewed, briefed and updated as necessary
• Ensure that site inductions and regular tool box talk briefings are given to all site personnel
• Ensure that a start of shift briefing is completed each day and that take 5 safety reviews are carried out as required
• Ensure all plant and equipment used is fit for purpose, only operated by suitably trained personnel and regularly inspected
 

Programme
• Responsible for delivering the project to programme
• Hold programme reviews on site not less than weekly and ensure that the collaborative plan is kept up to date
• Report any programme variation as an early warning notification to line management
Cost
• Responsible for delivery of the project to the agreed CAP2 budget cost
• Report the site costs weekly to the QS
• Raise and early warning notification for any change to the forecast outturn cost
• Responsible for the site expenditure on plant / materials and labour
• Raise an early warning notification for any change in the sub-contract works
• Raise requisitions for plant and materials and approve orders and weekly plant and material returns
• Adopt, maintain and promote cost conscious management through efficient use of all resources
 

General
• Ensure all works are undertaken with due regard to the needs of the local population within the immediate vicinity of the works and the travelling public as a whole
• Manage, supervise and mentor the site team as appropriate
• Ensure only adequately trained and experienced operatives are engaged on site to deliver the scheme
• Ensure all records for measurement and payment purposes are prepared promptly, in appropriate form
• Keep line management apprised of potential problems and opportunities
About you
• Health, Safety and Environmental Management (IOSH or Construction Managers Safety

Certificate (SMSTS)
• Valid Driving Licence
• CSCS Site Manager (Min)
• First Aid at Work

Desirable
• Recognised Civil Engineering/Site Management Qualifications
• Degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management Incorporated or Chartered status
