A long-term opportunity exists for a competent Project Engineer with considerable experience to manage short term core reactive maintenance works within the utility’s environment ranging in value from £10k to £100k. The Project Engineer is likely to support delivery of numerous reactive maintenance works from initial site attendance and evaluation with supply chain, thorough to site management of delivery phase as well as build stakeholder and supply chain relationship.

Duties will include –

  • Working closely with Design Manager, Temporary Works Coordinator and Lifting AP to ensure efficient use of resources, framework efficiencies and customer satisfaction are met
  • Report core works performance with regards to SHEQ, Time and Cost.
  • Striving to identify and then deliver efficiencies.
  • Identify blockers/issues and ensure that a solution is developed to resolve, and immediately escalate where out of your area of control or influence.
  • 100% SHEQ compliance with the Framework Core HASEMP, and compliance with the Framework Management plan
  • Provide challenge, innovation & solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Work in close collaboration with colleague’s, teams and clients forming supportive and positive, open relationships.
  • Acting as PCW, arranging handover of the sites to the contractor.
  • Stakeholder management both internal and external

 

Requirements for this post include –

  • Preferably in the water industry in a multi-disciplinary project delivery role
  • HNC/HND or degree in any of the relevant engineering disciplines (Civil/Mech/Elect/Instrumentation)
  • Experience and a broad understanding of disciplines outside of your’s
  • CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid
  • Association of Project Management (APM) Introductory Certificate
  • Any Site Management, Temporary Works and Lifting experience/qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Strong Technical understanding of Water and Waste water treatment and specifically the Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation/Control Automation equipment therein.
  • Skills, knowledge, and experience of CDM and Construction Management in the capacity of Principle Contractor
  • Skills, knowledge, and experience of CDM and Design in both the capacity of Principle Designer (or CDM-C) and Designer.
  • Advanced understanding of the importance of the customer and how to minimise and enhance the impact our works have on them ensuring their needs are accounted for in the delivery of every scheme.

  • Proven track record of managing different contractual arrangements, competitive tender/partnering/frameworks
