A long-term opportunity exists for a Strategic Access Planner to lead, develop, negotiate and coordinate the long-term access requirements from effected rail/freight operators on a large rail project.

 

Duties will include:

  • Work with other Project Integration Leads and Project Construction CREs to define the Project access requirements.
  • Work with Project Directors to resolve conflicting access requirements and agree prioritisation.
  • Provide support and technical information to the Project Directors for decision.
  • Work closely with the other support functions on a day-to-day basis providing support as required.
  • Working with and supporting the wider project and Client team
  • Lead the engagement with Programmes team, Train and Freight operators.

 

Requirements for this post include –

  • Previous experience in a similar post whilst employed by a tier one or principal civil engineering contractor on rails projects.
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience preferably within the rail sector.
  • Proven negotiating and communicating skills.
  • Previous experience being on a large JV involved in the delivery of civil engineering projects within the rail sector.
  • Good civil engineering construction knowledge
  • Good knowledge of Network rail procedures and processes.
