We are looking for a Structures Manager to join a leading Highways Contractor for an ongoing Highways contract on London. The role will be based out of their North Greenwich depot and will go through to early 2021.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of Inspectors overseeing Structure Inspection, Interim Measures, Reactive maintenance and manage Structural and Schemes works.
- Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with general Health and Safety responsibilities as set out in the Health and Safety Management System.
- Conduct routine H&S site safety audits
- Assist with delivery of the Term Maintenance Contract Performance, monitoring and reporting Service Performance Indicators (SPI’s), and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- Produce monthly forecast for the Structures Team, undertake monthly subcontractor accruals, review and authorise subcontractor payments, undertake monthly CVR review/updates, and assist QS with the monthly application for the Structures Team.
- Produce, Monitor and maintain Structure Inspection, Interim Measures, Reactive maintenance Structural and Schemes work programme detailing expenditure
- Manage the TM (Traffic Management) road space required to safely carry out reactive and or Inspection works
- Plan and implement resource requirements ensuring the correct people, processes and equipment are in place
- Manage structures fleet and plant
- Check/review, approve all documentation and manage their uploading onto TFL client systems
- Leasing with, and providing guidance to other departments, contractors and other stakeholders to optimise occupation of the Strategic Road Network, and minimise disruption to road users
- Attend/assist with network incidents as necessary
- Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
Qualification/Skills/Experience:
- Minimum BSc/BEng in Civil engineering
- Highway Structures experience essential
Must have good knowledge and understanding of CDM2015
- Knowledge of NEC3 contract desirable
- Experience of leading a team and reporting to Senior Managers
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Computer literate
- A valid UK Driver’s License
- Able to work on own initiative
- A good knowledge of Chapter 8 and Traffic management
- CSCS card holder
- Able to work in a team environment
- Previous experience using NAMS & Bridgestation desirable
